Angela Eagle hands out prizes at our awards ceremony
Awards went to pupils from Years 8 to 13 who had achieved
excellence across all subjects.
Outstanding effort and achievement awards went to Luke
McGeagh and Chloe Spree from Year 12 and leavers Rebecca Hulse and Abbie
Goodwin.
Angela, who has been the MP for Wallasey for over 20
years, has spent time working as the Opposition Whip and been part of the
Department for Environment, Social Security, The Home Office, Treasury Select
Committee and Department for Work and Pensions. She is currently Shadow Leader
of the House of Commons.
In her speech she said it was a privilege to be asked to
give out prizes and went on to credit the pupils who realise the importance of
education. She said that it was instilled in her from an early age meaning she
was the first in her family to go to university and she hoped Oldershaw pupils
would have similar success in whatever they aspired to achieve.
